Since 1747, dinnerware patterns, artefacts and architectural solutions of stylistic influence have been produced in the master workshops of Nymphenburg based on drafts by contemporary designers and artists who are among the most recognized of their genre worldwide. Well-known designers such as Konstantin Grcic, Hella Jongerius, Reed Kram and Clemens Weisshaar; Fashion designers such as Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood and Gareth Pugh, as well as visual artists such as Carsten Höller, Olaf Nicolai and Wim Delvoye deal intensively with the historical and cultural context of Nymphenburg and create unique artistic visions in porcelain of the highest quality. As a cultural institution with a 275-year history, Nymphenburg is consistently facing the challenges of the 21st century and is constantly launching new, surprising design objects and outstanding works of art with timeless value.
