Ted Muehling

Ted Muehling, born in New Jersey in 1953, studied industrial design at the Pratt Institute in New York. Since 1976, he has designed jewelry and objects inspired by natural forms. "I try to limit my vocabulary of form by abstracting shapes from nature and translating them into objects that are beautiful and work well." Since 1999, he has designed a variety of collections and objects for Nymphenburg: vases inspired in form and structure by coral, leaves and branches, lanterns and candlesticks, the marine collection and the White Coral service. Muehling has received numerous awards for his work, including the Chrysler Design Award and the American Fashion Coty Award.
