7-piece set | plates | My Private Sky

For the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg, Clemens Weisshaar and Reed Kram designed a hand-painted set of seven chargers entitled My Private Sky. Each service is unique to the owner, showing the night sky at the time of that persons birth from the location of birth. When ordering My Private Sky, the client informs Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg of hisor her place, date and hour of birth. A computer program especially developed by the designers calculates the client's personal night sky. This specific starry sky is converted into a set of drawings that the porcelain painters of the manufactory use as a template. The designers provide the artisans with a digital assistant who combines the potential of modern software with the handcraft of porcelain painting. For each service, around 500 stars, nebulae, planets and constellations are painted by hand on the plates in gold and platinum. My Private Sky is a limited series of 100 + 10 unique sets. Each set consists of seven chargers, the drawing according to which the plates were painted and a hand-painted legend.
